First things first: make sure to check in, grab your gear, and get ready to unleash your inner child—it’s playtime!

Hangout 12:00 pm

It’s time to unwind and have fun: whether you’re chilling by the pool, heading out on a hike, or jumping into some friendly games, the choice is yours!

Arts n’ Crafts & Chill 2:00 pm

Mix it up and get creative by diving into a mix of arts, crafts, and DIY fun. Whether you're painting, sculpting, crafting, or participating in some fun classes, do something totally unique to you (or your team)

The calm before the storm 5:00 pm

There’s no better way to prepare for battle then by meeting your enemies (we mean new friends of course). Participate in some Speed Friending, mini golf, frick frack blackjack and more to get into their heads (we mean foster meaningful relationships of course)

Themed Dance Party 9:00 pm

Get ready to groove, it's time for a surprise themed dance party, where the only rule is to dance like no one’s watching (even if they are)!

Friday

Breakfast 7:00 am

Rise and shine! Say good morning to those who claim “they woke up like this” and fuel up with a hearty breakfast because Today Is Field Day and you're going to need all the energy you can get!

Let the games begin 8:00 am

Do you even “adult” bruh? The wildest and most outrageous day of competition begins with teams competing in a variety of activities!

Lunch Break and games pt 2. 12:00 pm

Wipe the blood from your nose and the tears from your eyes and grab some grub. No one is around to make you wait 30 minutes for your food to digest! Hop right back in to the games and take home the gold, maybe?

And the winner is? 5:00 pm

No competition is complete without a finals karaoke battle! We’ll crown some winners, laugh at some losers, eat a delicious meal and enjoy the new friendships made.

Themed Dance Party 9:00 pm

Another night, another surprise theme, themed dance party. For those that are still standing, get ready for another night of busting a move, or hip.

Saturday

Rise and Shine

Some of you will jump out of bed, other will crawl, and others wont want to move. Either way, join us for some sunrise activities... if you can

Brunch 9:00 am

Recover in style with a really great brunch—because nothing says "adulting" like combining 2 meals, making excuses about the amount of syrup you used, and drinking on a Sunday morning.

How about a re-do 10:00 am

We know you’re still riding the wave of yesterday’s competition, so we’ve left some of the activities up for you to try again. Didn’t quite get the result you wanted before, no better time then when it doesn't count to put your best foot forward!

Let’s all sing a song 11:00 am

Just kidding... we’re not going to do that. We do want you to make sure you connect with all the new friends you made over the weekend. Share some socials, make plans to hang out, or we guess singing a song could work too.

You dont have to go home 1:00pm

But you cant stay here! We wish you could, but we’ve got to get this place cleaned up and go back to being responsible adults! We’ll see you at the next one!

Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers! Our FAQ section is here to help you get all the details you need to make sure you're fully prepared for an unforgettable weekend at Adult Field Day. Whether you’re curious about what to pack, what the competition entails, or just need a little more info on what to expect, we’ve got you covered. Check out the answers below and get ready to make the most of your time at AFD!

What exactly is Adult Field Day, and how is it different from other weekend events or Adult Summer Camps?

Adult Field Day is a high-energy, absurdly fun weekend where grown-ups get to relive their childhood field day dreams, only this time, there’s music, drinks, ridiculous competitions, and themed chaos. It’s part competition, part party, and part best day of your childhood for adults. Other events have you reliving the best days of summer, AFD has you replaying the best day of your school year!

Do I need to be super athletic to participate or is this more about fun?

Absolutely not. The goal is to have fun, not go pro. Events are designed for people of all fitness levels, and you can always opt out of activities if you feel the need. If you can high-five and yell inappropriately loud, you're already a top-tier competitor.

What is the best way to prepare for the weekend?

Bring a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a few costumes. Beyond that; hydration, snacks, sunscreen, a solid stretching routine, and a willingness to throw yourself headfirst into nonsense will go a long way. Make sure you’ve let your “old friends” know to expect a new you once the weekend is over!

I don’t know anyone going—will I feel out of place or is it easy to make friends?

AFD is built for connection. From shared team challenges to dorm-style lodging and poolside socials, you’ll be surrounded by hundreds of potential new best friends. Many attendees come to AFD solo and leave with a whole crew by the end of the weekend. Our “Responsible Adults” will make sure no one is sitting on the sidelines and our event is built on inclusion!

Are there any themed events, costume contests, or specific outfits I should bring?

Yes. While not mandatory, dressing up is heavily encouraged. There will be not 1, but 2 separate surprise-theme themed dance parties over the weekend for starters! We will let you know in advance what those themes are so you can properly prepare. On top of that, your team may have a team-theme, but there will definitely be a general “wear something ridiculous and/or sparkly” energy all weekend.

What happens if I don’t want to compete in a game? Is there still stuff to do?

Totally. There are chill areas, poolside hangs, open games like mini golf, cornhole and 9-square, and social events all weekend. Saturday is meant to be a day full of competitive fun, but this story is a “choose your own ending” type of novel, and you can be involved as much or as little as you want. Our Responsible Adults will definitely try and keep everyone involved, but no means no!

How much downtime is there between events?

The schedule on Saturday is packed, and we mean PACKED! The day is intentionally designed to have you questioning what a deep breath feels like and why sticking your head in a bucket full of ice feels so damn good. We do plan to give you a break here and there, so you’ll have time to recharge, grab food, lay in the sun, or plan your next costume change. Friday and Sunday are much more carefree where structured activities exist, but so does your free will on what you’d like to do!

How many people typically attend, and what’s the overall vibe?

You can expect a few hundred awesome humans to be enjoying the best weekend of their lives with you. The vibe is equal parts “school recess chaos” and “friendly competition meets music-fueled adult playground.”

Can I bring my pet?

Nope, sorry! As much as we love dogs in sunglasses, cats in spacesuits, and bunnies with a monocle, the event isn’t set up to allow pets. At the venue, you may encounter a stray goat or two and you are welcome to give them all the head pats and butt scratches you can manage. Other than that, this weekend is for humans only (and barely functioning ones at that).

What should I do if I lose something during the weekend?

There will be a lost & found near the main lodge. If it’s something important like your dignity or phone, we’ll try to help. If it’s your inflatable banana costume… someone else is probably wearing it now. At the end of the event, we will make sure to share all items found with all attendees to make sure we get everyone back what’s theirs, but be warned, anything not claimed in a reasonable amount of time will find its way onto Frick Frack Blackjacks offerings!

How many people typically attend, and what’s the overall vibe?

Registration & Arrival

What time should I arrive, and when does everything officially start?

You can expect a few hundred awesome humans to be enjoying the best weekend of their lives with you. The vibe is equal parts “school recess chaos” and “friendly competition meets music-fueled adult playground.”

What do I need to bring for check-in?

You’ll need a government-issued ID and your confirmation email or ticket (printed or on your phone). We do all we can to keep check-in moving smoothly, but sometimes we get a little backed up, so bringing a little patience as well doesn’t hurt! After we confirm you are who you say you are and you watch a safety video, you’ll get your wristband, room/camping assignment, team info, and maybe a cool nickname, probably yelled at you by someone in costume.

Can I show up late, or do I have to be there at the beginning?

You can arrive late, but you may miss some of the best bonding moments and the welcome activities. We understand there are certain uncontrollable factors that may delay your arrival to the best weekend of your life, but we do suggest giving yourself enough time to enjoy all there is to do!

What happens if I have to leave early?

You’re free to peace out when you need to, but if you leave mid-competition, your team may send a passive-aggressive group text after the event. We encourage everyone to plan this as a weekend getaway and make sure their babysitters have a backup plan too! Let a Responsible Adult know if you do plan on leaving so we can properly check you out and avoid a search party.

Can I switch teams if I don’t like mine?

Short answer: no. Long answer: hell no. Teams are assigned to keep things fair, balanced, and wildly unpredictable. By the end of the weekend, you’ll be ride-or-die with your squad, whether you chose them or not.

Are team assignments random, or can I request to be on a team with friends?

When registering, we do have an option where we allow you to request teammates, whether coming as a group or meeting up with people at AFD. We do our best to accommodate this if and when possible, but there are no guarantees that we can accommodate all requests. Our goal is to keep things as fair and fun as possible! Beyond that, we encourage you to roll with the randomness, it’s part of the magic. Plus, it keeps things spicy.

Do I have to sign up for specific events in advance, or can I decide on the spot?

No need to sign up for any activities in advance. In fact, we hate signup sheets! Just show up when the whistle blows and you’re in! All activities on Friday and Sunday are open to all at any time. For Saturday, your Responsible Adult will drag you to where they think you should be to compete for glory. Life changing decisions are supposed to be made impulsively on the spot!

Will there be a schedule given out, or do I just follow the chaos?

A beautifully chaotic written itinerary will be available when you arrive. We recommend taking a picture of it, tattooing it to your forearm, or assigning someone on your team to pretend to be the responsible one. Each team will have their own Responsible Adult assigned to them as well (no fighting over them, please!) and they will make sure you get to where you’re supposed to be!

Accommodations & Lodging

What’s the best lodging option if I want to be close to the action?

Best is a strong word, all of our lodging options our great! Some of the most popular choices are Our Private Rooms/Private Cabins for groups coming in and our Dorm-Style Single Beds in the main lodge from those either coming solo or looking to meet new people and be closest to the heart of the event. Regardless where you choose to rest your head at night, you’ll be only steps away from the action, which means less walking, more chaos, and a front-row seat to the madness.

What are the bathrooms and showers like?

They exist. They work. And they’ll be your best friend after a day of inflatable battles and competitive dance-offs. Expect camp-style facilities, functional and clean, but not exactly spa day vibes. Also keep in mind that there are hundreds of attendees at Adult Field Day, so please be mindful of the time spent under a shower head and the

Can I bring my own tent if I want to camp?

Yes! If you booked a Camping Spot, you’ll need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag, pillows, and anything else you need to feel like a semi-functioning adult outdoors. We will assign you a camping spot to call your own for the weekend, but that’s all you’ll get from us! Well, maybe a helping hand setting up if you ask nicely.

Are there quiet areas for sleeping, or will it be loud all night?

We try to keep the party centralized and let sleeping attendees sleep, but let’s be real: it’s Adult Field Day, not a silent retreat. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper… or join the late-night festivities instead. The private cabins in upper camp or the private group houses will be your best bet if you want to get some quality shuteye.

Can I bring an air mattress or extra bedding?

Absolutely. Whether you’re in a cabin, a lodge room, or your tent, feel free to bring whatever you need to stay comfy. Keep in mind that this is Adult Field Day, not Sandals on the beach, we’re known for the best weekend of your life, not the best sleep of your life!

Is there anywhere to charge my phone?

Yes, but it’s limited. Bring a portable charger if you want to stay powered up all weekend long without having to squat next to a microwave. All buildings will have outlets for you to charge whatever you need, but they may be in high demand. This is a great excuse to unplug (or mostly unplug) for the weekend and just enjoy!

What’s the parking situation? Can I sleep in my car?

There’s plenty of parking on-site, and if you're staying in an RV spot, sleeping in your car or rig is totally fine. Just make sure you booked the RV Spot when checking out or cleared it with the organizers ahead of time, sneaky van goblins will be noticed. We also recommend carpooling when possible, both for the fun factor and the environment of course!

Food & Drinks

What kind of food will be available over the weekend?

Expect delicious, high-energy fuel throughout the weekend. You can see a sample menu of the meals we offer on the website by clicking “view menu.” We do all we can to offer a hearty variety to keep all mouths happy and tummies full! Popcorn, snow cones, granola bars, fruits, and countless other snacking treats will be available at all times.

Are drinks included, or do I need to bring cash for drinks?

All beverages, including alcohol, are available to you as part of your Adult Field Day experience. Whether you’re sipping on seltzers by the pool or grabbing a cold one after a challenge, we’ve got your hydration, and celebration, covered.

Are there vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free meal options?

Yes! We offer a variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options at each meal by request only. Be sure to indicate any dietary restrictions when registering, and our kitchen crew will make sure you’re well fed and ready to rumble.

Can I bring my own snacks?

You’re welcome to bring your favorite snacks to stash in your tent, cabin, or room, especially if you’re the kind of person who needs a 2 a.m. bag of gummy bears after the dance party. It may even make you that much more popular around town! Just be mindful of critters and cleanup.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Nope! Outside alcohol is not permitted. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered though. Alcohol will be served throughout the weekend at designated bars and drink stations, and trust us, there will be no shortage of drinks, toasts, or questionable karaoke.

Is there a water station, or do I need to bring my own?

Yes! Hydration stations will be located all throughout the property for you convenience. Bring a reusable water bottle and keep it full, you’re going to need it. Forgot one, we’ve got plenty you can use! Friendly reminder: hydration is not optional, it’s strategy.

Games, Activities & Prizes

What kind of games will we be playing?

Expect a mix of ridiculous competitions, massive inflatables, obstacle courses, relay races, field games, and some things that probably shouldn't be legal but are definitely fun. The games are equal parts wild, creative, and chaotic designed to keep you laughing, moving, and occasionally questioning your life choices (in a good way). We are constantly mixing things up, and part of the fun of AFD is sometimes you have absolutely no idea what you’re about to get into!

Do I have to participate in every game, or can I pick and choose?

You’re encouraged to jump in as much as you possibly can, but you’re not required to do anything you don’t want to do. If you need a breather, prefer spectating, or just want to float in the pool for a bit, that’s totally fine. This weekend is about fun, not pressure.

How do you determine winners? Are there prizes?

Oh, we absolutely keep score—and yes, there will be prizes, trophies, and eternal bragging rights. The games are competitive ish, but don’t be surprised if a team, or individual wins something based on style points, outrageous costumes, or pure unfiltered chaos. Again, we can’t spill all our secret sauce, and part of the fun is not knowing everything!

What happens if there’s a tie?

Let’s just say… tie-breakers will not be normal. Expect dance-offs, obstacle duels, sudden-death trivia, animal noise-offs, scavenger hunts, or whatever else our staff comes up with on the fly. Prepare for anything, and keep in mind that if you win the first time, there wont be a tiebreaker!

What are the most ridiculous games I should be prepared for?

We’re not giving away too much, but let’s just say you’ll want shoes you can run in, clothes you don’t mind ruining, goggles might come in handy, and a sense of humor that’s fully charged. You may recognize some of these games, others were created to have you question reality.

Will someone explain the rules of each game before we play?

Absolutely. There will always be a Responsible Adult nearby for every activity and competiion you participate in. You’ll get a full rundown before each competion to make sure nothing is missed. That said, understanding the rules is optional—participating with enthusiasm is not.

Are there activities besides competitions, like open play or social events?

Yes! You can see a sample schedule on the website under “What to Expect.” When you arrive on Friday, you choose which social activities you’d like to participate in! On Sunday, its pretty much open play on any and everything! Throught the weekend there will be open-play zones, mini golf, pool parties, arts and crafts, classes, social mixers, music, late-night events, and other surprises. There’s always something happening, and plenty of ways to get involved (or get weird).

Packing & Essentials

What should I bring for the weekend?

Bring comfortable clothes you can move (and maybe fall) in, closed-toe shoes, a swimsuit, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, toiletries, a costume or two, and anything else that screams “I didn’t come here to play it safe.” If you’re camping, don’t forget your tent, sleeping bag, pillow, and whatever gear keeps you cozy and functional. We will email you a full checklist of what we believe you should have on hand, but if you do forget anything we will have plenty available. Don’t forget something to “gamble” at Frick Frack!

What should I NOT bring?

No outside alcohol, no illegal substances, no pets, no glass containers, no bad vibes, and definitely no expectations of staying clean all weekend. Also, leave the valuables at home, this is a party, not a bank vault.

Should I bring cash, or is everything covered?

Everything you need for the weekend is included in your ticket; meals, drinks, games, and entertainment. You won’t need cash unless you’re tipping someone for helping you up off the ground after a failed cartwheel, and even then, the best currency is a unique compliment! We will have additional swag available should you want to rep AFD all year long, but knowing us, we’ll probably just throw it at you for funsies.

What should I wear for the competitions?

Wear something comfortable, breathable, and preferably ridiculous. Gear in your team’s colors will be given to you because what’s better than matching while racing blindfolded over hurdles? All competitions require something… different so bring extra clothes—you will get dirty.

Do I need to bring a swimsuit?

Yes. There’s a pool. There are games involving water. There are football style Gatorade tub flipping celebrations. You know what, you may want to bring a couple of swimsuits now that we think about it.

Is there a theme for outfits or team uniforms?

Yes! Once you’ve been placed on your team, we will give you some gear in your teams color! We will also provide tons of “flair” opportunities for you to really spice it up and stand out. Once your team huddles up, you can come up with your own theme if you so choose and really make an impact on our Instagram reels! The nightly parties will also be themed so make sure to check your emails and pack accordingly!

Getting There & Transportation

How do I get to Deloro Valley?

Deloro Valley is located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, just outside of Auburn, CA. Detailed directions will be provided ahead of the event, but it’s an easy drive from the Bay Area, Sacramento, and beyond. The roads are scenic, the cell service fades at the perfect time, and the adventure begins as soon as you turn off the highway.

Can I carpool with other attendees?

Absolutely! We strongly encourage carpooling and ridesharing, it’s fun, eco-friendly, and a great way to meet your fellow Adult Field Day teammates. We'll be providing a rideshare board or chat group before the event so you can link up with others coming from your area.

Is there a shuttle or ride-share option?

At this time, there won’t be an official shuttle, but Uber/Lyft may work depending on your starting point, just remember, service can be spotty near the venue. Carpooling is your best bet for a smooth arrival and exit.

How far is the nearest store in case I need something?

There are small markets and gas stations within a 15–20 minute drive from Deloro Valley That said, we recommend bringing everything you need ahead of time, because once you're in the zone, you won’t want to leave. On top of that, this is considered all-inclusive and we make a point of keeping all you need (that we can prepare for) on hand.

Will I have cell service or WiFi while I’m there?

Cell service is limited in some areas of the property. Don’t count on a signal. There may be WiFi in select common areas, but this weekend is the perfect excuse to unplug, go off-grid, and focus on being present… and possibly covered in glitter.

How many people typically attend, and what’s the overall vibe?

You can expect a few hundred awesome humans to be enjoying the best weekend of their lives with you. The vibe is equal parts “school recess chaos” and “friendly competition meets music-fueled adult playground.”

Safety & Event Policies

What happens if I get injured?

We have a trained medical and safety team on-site throughout the weekend. Whether you twist an ankle during dodgeball or pull a muscle attempting a victory dance, we’ve got you covered. Please report any injuries to a Responsible Adult immediately.

Are there medical staff on-site?

Yes! There will be first aid and emergency response staff available at all times. Your health and safety is a priority, even when you’re dressed like a hot dog and launching yourself down an inflatable slide. If you have any prior medical conditions or injuries that may require medical attention, please let our Responsible Adults know in advance and use your best judgement over the weekend.

What’s the policy on alcohol consumption?

Alcohol is included as part of the weekend and will be served responsibly at designated times and locations. Outside alcohol is not permitted. Please enjoy yourself, but keep it respectful, hydrate often, and don’t be that person. (Or do—but know we’ll write your name on a board somewhere.) We reserve the right to “cut off” anyone, at any time, for any reason.

Is there security at the event?

Yes, we’ll have a professional and friendly event security team on-site to help with anything from lost items to helping you find your cabin after you accidentally wandered off during a late-night game of flashlight tag.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Rain or shine, Adult Field Day is happening. A little mud never hurt anyone, actually, it makes the games better. In case of extreme weather, we’ll adjust events accordingly and make sure everyone stays safe and (mostly) dry.

Is there a code of conduct or any behavior rules I should be aware of?

Yes! While we’re all about fun and games, we take safety, respect, and inclusion seriously. Harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. Everyone is here to have a good time, and that only works if we all treat each other well. Play hard, party harder, and don’t be a jerk. If you have to ask if it’s “okay” then it probably isn’t!

What should I do if I have an emergency or need to leave suddenly?

Find a Responsible Adult or visit the check-in area ASAP. We’ll help coordinate logistics and make sure you get what you need. If it’s a true emergency, our on-site safety team will take action immediately to the best of our abilities.

How many people typically attend, and what’s the overall vibe?

You can expect a few hundred awesome humans to be enjoying the best weekend of their lives with you. The vibe is equal parts “school recess chaos” and “friendly competition meets music-fueled adult playground.”

After the Event

How can I get access to photos and videos from the event?

Our team will be capturing the most epic, embarrassing, and unforgettable moments all weekend long. After the event, we’ll share a link to a gallery or shared drive where you can download and relive the chaos, or deny involvement entirely.

Will there be a recap or follow-up with results and highlights?

Yes! We’ll send out a post-event recap with highlights, competition results, standout moments, and maybe a few award titles you didn’t know you earned (like “Most Dramatic Dive” or “Loudest Costume”). Keep an eye on your inbox.

How can I stay connected with people I met at AFD?

We’ll create a private group or community platform for all attendees so you can reconnect, share photos, plan reunions, or just post memes from the weekend. New friendships (and rivalries) are encouraged to continue beyond the field. Also, it’s not weird to say “hey, you’re pretty cool we should be friends!” So do that!

Can I sign up for next year’s event now?

Soon! Returning guests will get early access, priority registration, and maybe even a discount or two, so be sure to stay subscribed to event emails and social media pages. Once you’ve done AFD once, you’re family.

How can I give feedback or suggest a new game for the next AFD?

We love feedback, especially if it involves ridiculous game ideas, helpful suggestions, or dramatic reenactments of things that went wrong. You’ll receive a post-event survey, or you can email us directly with your thoughts. Help us make next year even more unhinged (in a good way).

Final Question (probably):

First, take a deep breath. Then shoot us an email, DM, or smoke signal. Our team of trained chaos coordinators will get you the info you need faster than someone pulling a hamstring in the three-legged race. No question is too weird (probably).

You didn’t answer my question—what now?

How many people typically attend, and what’s the overall vibe?

You can expect a few hundred awesome humans to be enjoying the best weekend of their lives with you. The vibe is equal parts “school recess chaos” and “friendly competition meets music-fueled adult playground.”
